North Marshall was the third summit of the day and as I drove down Syline Drive I started to gain in elevation. The summit sits at 3369 feet and 3000 feet must be the magic number because as I ascended the mountain I hit a wall of snow and ice that had accumulated on the trees which made for a beautiful sight. On the way up is a really nice area to view the valley below but unfortunately it was outside the activation zone. A little further up I found a legit spot and got on the air. I decided to try 2 meters and was able to make a decent pile of contacts. Even though the summit was covered in trees I was still able to get out with 5W and my modified Arrow antenna.
